Bike Condition: Great bike in good-fair condition. The drivetrain may need to be changed in the future however works and pedals wonderful. I simply had a tune-up done at Glenn Swan's. Break cable was replaced with new cable. Everything else is fine. The shock has some problems however I suggest using this bike for driving to work around town as opposed to mountain biking. Do not stress about the shocks if you plan on using it for driving.

General Comments: This is an an extremely resilient bike as I rode it to my workplace year around with virtually no issues. Routinely kept the bike. The biggest sales point is the 3x-flat defense Bontrager tires, which are quite expensive. I never ever had a flat after setting up those tires. The tires are half the bike's value.

Authorities Insignia: Two common concerns I get are: 1) Why do you have a bike with an authorities logo design?; 2) Is this really legal? To respond to the very first concern first, I purchased the bike online from a police supplier due to the fact that cops bikes are examined as extremely durable and I needed a commuter bike that can withstand Ithaca's surface year-around. The police decals were indicated as optional and I selected NONE in the box. However, I still got the police decals connected to the bike. I attempted removing them however they are attached with some kind of unique glue, so as opposed to returning the bike I simply left them on. One benefit is that I in some cases leave the bike unattended and unlocked and never had an issue with theft of the bike or its parts.

Concerning the validity of a civilian owning a Police bike, I called both the Ithaca Police Department and the Cornell Police Department and both said that it was completely legal. The legitimacy is the exact same as using a cap or t-shirt that states "Police" on them. In reality both the IPD and the CUPD have sold decommissioned Police bikes at their auctions to the general public. , if you are fretted about this issue I motivate you to contact the non-emergency numbers of either IPD or CUPD and ask for yourself.

.

About Owner: I am a PhD student at Cornell, who just completed my degree, and am selling the bicycle since I am leaving the United States for a task overseas.
